Yo Saturnalia!

One of my goals for 2024 was to explore the deeper roots of the holidays that are honored together as a culture - especially the customs - and notice my relationship to them. There were a lot of reasons behind this, mainly because I don't like the feeling of wastefulness, and the practice of a custom without understanding the meaning behind it felt wasteful. At the very least, it felt like a missed opportunity.

On my personal journey of decolonization, I was concerned that many of the customs that we carry on with had origins in genocide, oppression, violence and those things don't inspire me to celebrate. I am all for holding space en memorium, but so much of the meaning behind our holidays has been watered down, lost, or worse misunderstood and I decided it was time to peel away some cultural layers.

Seriously one of the best decisions ever. I am thrilled to go into 2025 with the wisdom that emerged from this project. Much of what I uncovered was deeper insight into living harmoniously with the Earth's rhythms, and collectively tuning into the wisdom of each season. This gave me so much clarity on what Inspired by the Wild is here to do as a business model based on the concept of the ecosystem.

2024 was a year of deep devotion to my studies and preparing for a quantum leap, and while it darn near ended me, I leaped and landed in a whole new timeline/new version of myself/new location with a greater clarity and motivation for my career. The timing of this new beginning couldn't be more meaningful as we enter the season of Capricorn, my birth sign and the season of Saturn. And if you've never heard of Saturnalia, the ancient Roman interpretation of the pagan celebration honoring the planet of Karma, who better to introduce you to this cosmic Saturn Daddy than I - your local Capricorn kitchen witch?!

I'll be hosting Saturnalia with a series of events at my new location to introduce my new services in Clinical Herbalism and Somatic Exercise.
